Salt Lake City – What would you think if you walked into, what seemed like, a normal club one hot day in August and were surrounded by 400 men dressed in all manners of Leather? What would you think if this club happened to be, in all places, Salt Lake City, Utah? What would you think if when you looked around you saw the likes of adult performers, Tony Buff and Derek da Silva, sharing a cold brew with others who are feeling how hot Leather can be in the month of August. You might think that you had just wondered into a group of rebels and you wouldn’t be far off. Welcome to the Utah Rebellion!
The Utah Rebellion is entering into their 5th year as one of the Northwest regions most popular annual Leather events. The event was developed in 2006 after the Rebellions key organizer, Utah Rox, and Master Tiger attended the Las Vegas Smoke Out. The two Leatherman had the desire to create an event in Salt Lake City that offered Leatherman both new and experienced a venue to get together and enjoy male energy, and so the Utah Rebellion was born.
The Utah Rebellion is hosted at club Try-Angles in Salt Lake City. The first year 300 men were in attendance. Last year the event was expanded to three days, which brought in over 400 men most of whom donned hot sexy black leather pants and harnesses. Organizers expect around 500 men for this year’s event.
This year the Utah Rebellion is playing host to such names as Titanmen film stars, Tony Buff and Derek da Silva, Grand Master Aylette, Hardy Haberman and Master Tiger. Also in attendance will be titleholders such as; Mr. Rocky Mountain Olympus Leather 2010, Utah Rox, Mister International Leather 2008, Andrew Love, Southern Community Bootblack 2009 Curtis and Lead Rebellion Bootblack, Aaron. The Salt Lake Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps will also be performing over the three-day event. Th
e Rebel Alley Crews ability to showcase Leather Pride, as well as being a down right friendly group of Leatherfolk, has awarded them national press as well as a place as the bar hosts at the Vegas Smoke Out 2009 where the event was conceived.
The schedule for the Utah Rebellion 2010 begins Friday, August 6th, with a presenter meet and greets, followed by a “Dark Spaces” play party hosted by Tony Buff and Derek de Silva. Don’t have too much fun Friday night because Saturday the Rebel Alley day fair begins at 2pm and includes vendors, Leather life style education workshops, bootblacking, music, beer and a BBQ. At 8pm the bar opens for a full blown men’s Leather party. The Utah Rebellion will send you off in style the final day, August 9th, with the men of the Utah Rebellion getting together for an “Until Next Year” brunch at Off Traxs. This year’s event promises to be the biggest Utah Rebellion yet and tickets can be purchased for the entire weekend, Saturday only or the dark spaces party only.
